This Privacy Policy describes how EmergeRank ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Shopify application and website at emergerank.com (the "Service").

By installing the EmergeRank app or using our website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information from Shopify Stores

When you install EmergeRank on your Shopify store, we collect and store the following information:

• Store information — your store name, store URL, and Shopify store ID
• Store owner email address — used to send content suggestions, post notifications, and monthly reports
• Product catalog data — product titles, handles, and categories, used solely to generate relevant SEO content for your store
• Existing blog post titles — used to avoid generating duplicate content topics
• App settings — your store niche description and brand tone preference

Subscription and Billing Information

EmergeRank uses Shopify's native Billing API for all subscription management. We do not collect, store, or process your payment card information. All billing is handled directly by Shopify. We store only your subscription plan, status, and renewal date.

Content Data

We store the content suggestions we generate for your store, your approval or skip decisions on those suggestions, and the published posts we create on your behalf. This data is used to manage your content calendar and avoid publishing duplicate topics.

Website Visitors

When you visit emergerank.com, we may collect standard web analytics data including pages visited, time on site, and referring website. This data is aggregated and anonymous — we do not track individual visitors by name or identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve the EmergeRank service. Specifically:

• To generate SEO-optimized blog content relevant to your store and products
• To publish approved content directly to your Shopify blog
• To send you weekly content suggestion emails and post confirmation notifications
• To send you monthly performance summary reports
• To manage your subscription and billing status
• To improve the quality and relevance of our AI-generated content over time

We do not use your information for advertising purposes. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your store or customer data to train our AI models beyond improving content relevance for your specific store.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

EmergeRank is an SEO content tool for store owners. We want to be clear about what we do not collect:

• We do not collect or store your end-customers' personal information
• We do not collect your customers' order history, payment information, or browsing behavior
• We do not collect your Shopify admin password or login credentials
• We do not collect payment card numbers or banking information
• We do not collect or store sensitive personal information beyond what is listed in Section 1

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only with the third-party service providers necessary to operate the EmergeRank service. These providers are:

• Supabase — our database provider, used to store your store information, settings, content, and subscription data
• Anthropic — the AI provider that powers our content generation. Your store niche, brand tone, and product information are sent to Anthropic's API to generate blog content. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their use of this data.
• DataForSEO — our keyword research provider. Your store niche is used to request keyword data. No personally identifiable information is shared.
• Resend — our email delivery provider, used to send you content suggestions, notifications, and reports
• Vercel — our hosting provider, on whose infrastructure EmergeRank runs

All third-party providers are contractually obligated to use your data only for the purposes of providing their service to us. We do not sell or rent your data to any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your store data for as long as your EmergeRank subscription is active. If you uninstall the EmergeRank app from your Shopify store, we will delete your store's data from our systems within 48 hours in accordance with Shopify's requirements.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@emergerank.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. EmergeRank uses industry-standard security measures including:

• All data transmitted between your store and EmergeRank is encrypted using HTTPS
• Database access is protected by Row Level Security — each store can only access its own data
• API keys and credentials are stored as encrypted environment variables and never exposed publicly
• Shopify OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only to publish content to your store

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• The right to access the personal data we hold about your store
• The right to correct inaccurate data
• The right to request deletion of your data
• The right to object to our processing of your data
• The right to data portability — receiving a copy of your data in a structured format

8. GDPR Compliance

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). EmergeRank processes your data on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance — we process your store data to provide the EmergeRank service you have subscribed to
• Legitimate interests — we process aggregated analytics data to improve our service

EmergeRank implements all mandatory Shopify GDPR webhooks, including customer data request, customer data deletion, and shop data deletion upon app uninstall.

For data transfers outside the EEA, we rely on standard contractual clauses with our service providers to ensure adequate protection of your data.

9. Children's Privacy

EmergeRank is a business tool intended for use by adults operating Shopify stores. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately at hello@emergerank.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify active users by email at the address associated with their store.

Your continued use of EmergeRank after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
